New Blog Feature
October 5, 2014
We are starting a new feature on the LUZ Blog.

Every Sunday, Quinton enjoys a cup of coffee & shares a photo book from his collection….it’s simple, no reviews, no comments… We just hope it will remind you to pull down an old favourite from your shelf and relax for a minutes, in the pages.

And…. maybe you’ll find a new title or two to add to your collection?

‘the angel of chance’
September 24, 2014
“Like all photographers, I depend on serendipity… I pray for what might be referred to as the angel of chance.”
– Sally Mann
Quinton’s love of paper negs continues ….

He pulled out a package of Agfa Brovira- which we think is circa 1950s – from our collection. Even if it didn’t work, I’m in love with this old packaging (watch for them to framed in the studio in the near future;)

The good news is, it worked !! Quinton photographed this beautiful vintage dress and test results from the 8×10 paper neg are in…filled with what Sally Mann calls the ‘angel of chance’ – slight fogging but in that serendipitous way!

And on the note of great packaging,
here’s one more for you!

…I found this gorgeous bottle of Metol over the weekend #typelove

falling into place
September 23, 2014

The plans are falling into place for our studio ‘open house’
and a fun halloween themed Tintype Photo Booth

It was Molly’s choice to select the charity we were going to raise funds for and with her BIG love of animals she naturally picked the BC SPCA ! (that’s her in the ‘fire dog’ costume) We will donate 15 dollars from every plate – so come see a cool 19th century photographic process in action & book yourself in for a one-of-a-kind portrait, in costume or out!

We’ll post full details soon on +more fun things to see, make & win during our OPEN HOUSE…
… just get us pencilled in your calendar -> October 25, Saturday // 11am – 4pm
